Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach

Waterfalls! Glaciers! Vulcanoes! Mountains! Diamond Beach, and the Glacier Lagoon! The South Coast has it all!

Every region of Iceland is incredible, but the South Coast is my favorite! It’s one of the most picturesque and beautiful parts of Iceland. Not many roads will allow you to admire so many wonders of Icelandic nature. For a good reason, that unique region is often used in movies and music productions.

Discover the magical Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where shimmering icebergs float amidst stunning natural scenery. Watch as the playful seals swim amongst the ice and be captivated by the ever-changing landscape. Then head to Diamond Beach, where the glistening ice fragments wash up on the black sands, creating a stunning contrast of crystal clear icebergs against the black sand beaches as you soak in the natural beauty of this unique landscape. This is an experience you won’t soon forget!

GLACIER LAGOON AND DIAMOND BEACH, ICELANDIC SOUTH COAST, GEYSIR TO VÍK

SELJALANDSFOSS WATERFALL

Thanks to the melting glacier cap of the well-known hero of the year 2010, Eyjafjallajokull. Today we have a chance to admire one of the most exciting waterfalls in Iceland.

Seljalandsfoss is a 60m high (200 ft) waterfall.

What makes this waterfall so special is the path that allows my guests to walk behind the waterfall in the summer.

Don’t worry about getting wet. I have you covered. We have a few raincoats on board, which I make available to my guests on request.

Unfortunately, during the winter season, due to safety reasons, the path it’s closed.

SKÓGAFOSS WATERFALL

Skógafoss is wide at 25 m (80 ft), 60m high (200 ft) waterfall.

You can experience his charm in two ways. First, if you are not afraid to get a bit wet, the flat surrounding underneath allows you to walk right up to the waterfall. The second way is the viewing platform at the top of the waterfall. If we are blessed with sunny weather, you will have a chance to admire often a double Rainbow at Skogafoss. Used as a set of many famous movie productions, Skógafos is also the beginning of Iceland’s most famous hiking trail, the 22 km (14 ml) Fimmvörðuháls Pass.

GLACIER LAGOON AND DIAMOND BEACH

REYNISFJARA

According to National Geographic, Reynisfjara is one of the Top 10 none tropical beaches you should visit. This famous black-sand beach is located in the middle of the Icelandic South Coast near the small village Vík. With basalt columns, a cave, black sand, and Reynisdrangar 66m(216 ft) rock pillars, Reynisfjara is truly a unique place.

JOKULSAURLON GLACIER LAGOON

Without a doubt, Jökulsárlón Iceland’s most famous glacier lagoon of Iceland. It is located on the Icelandic South Coast and is part of Vatnajokull National Park. Jokulsaron is a lake created by the meltwaters from the outlet of Vatnajokull glacier’s largest ice cap in Europe. View of floating icebergs of all sizes in various shades of blue and white is an unforgettable experience.

If you would like to take this experience to the next level, there is an option of a Zodiac boat tour with a total duration of 1,45 min (1 hour on the water) for an additional price.

GLACIER LAGOON AND DIAMOND BEACH

DIAMOND BEACH

Diamond Beach is located just by the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon.

Depending on the season, this black beach is sprinkled with various sizes and shapes of ice. It is tough to find a place equal to Diamond Beach. This unique view can be compared to a visit to a gallery where the artist is nature.
