I cannot recommend Mike enough as a tour guide and great travel leader. Our family trip in Iceland was one of our best of recent memory and all of us mentioned our day with Mike on the South Coast as a particular highlight.
Mike makes sure to go at the right pace for your group; he has a terrific sense of humor; he showed us all the best sights. His knowledge of history, geology, plate tectonics – what a great combination to make every moment feel packed with interest!
He is also terrific at photography and will help you time and obtain really wonderful photographs. Even when we got a flat tire on his fancy new Mercedes van, it was no sweat! We happened to be close to a farm where they had ice cream so we got treats while Mike patched the tire and we were quickly back on the road.
He never lost his cool and even treated us at the end of the long day to hot chocolate (with whipped cream)! Also Mike kept in touch with me because we had some driving on our own and he sent me detailed Google maps with the best routes and time of date for various sites. Who does that? So considerate and caring!
Hire him – you will be happy you did!!

We can’t recommend Arctic Mike’s Tours highly enough! We did both the South Coast and the Golden Circle tours with Mike (two adults and our 6-year-old), and it was truly the trip of a lifetime.

I did the Golden Circle tour with Mike and it was truly one of the best ways to experience Iceland. In addition to being so incredibly kind and fun, Mike is a lover of history and shared so many facts and stories! He is a walking Icelandic Wikipedia! Not only that, he knows the best spots for photos! And of course, he knows where all of the bathrooms are. Very important 🙂
He really took care of us and gave us the space to explore without ever feeling like it was overbearing. He was always there when we needed him.

This was such a great experience, Michal is an great host who shows you some truly beautiful places! My friend and I loved this excursion; we saw everything we wanted to see and felt safe (even with some crazy weather) the whole time! If you’re in Iceland I highly recommend booking this excursion, you won’t regret it!

Forget renting a car — leave your time in Iceland to Michal.
After partaking in two of his tours (Golden Circle & South Coast), I can tell you that there is no better way to see the sights of the country. Michal is generous with his time, knowledge, and most of all, his kindness.
When we said our goodbyes at the end of the second day with him, it truly was parting as friends.
Book this experience if you want to hit all of the spots (plus some wonderful gems I NEVER would have seen on my own) with a genuine soul.
